After the uptight, on-the-clock experience making two and a half “real” records, our idea for a Valentines Day covers EP was a much needed return to the loose ways of our homemade EPs. Several lifetimes and ten trillion miles of touring had passed in the six years since then. 

We piled into Noam’s house in Western Massachusetts, complete with an infant: the first of six eventual Mobius Children. We recorded the whole thing in a long weekend, avoiding click tracks and figuring out most of the songs on the spot. It sounds relaxed, and is perhaps the most honest document of who we were as friends and musicians (if not songwriters). (Ben)
